Questioning poverty feminisation in Catalonia: intersections between work, care and health

PrecarGender analyses the socio-economic and political factors to be considered for an inclusive transformation of the right to a dignified life, focusing on those that condition access to basic goods and resources. We approach the issue from a rights-based perspective which, drawing on intersectionality and feminist economics, provides a better understanding of the links between socio-economic disparities and their consequences for women's well-being and health. 

• We will analyse the process of the feminisation of poverty and precariousness, identifying the socio-economic and structural factors that perpetuate it.
• We will characterise the (dis)articulation between paid work and domestic and care work.
• We will address food insecurity as a concrete manifestation of the feminisation of poverty.

Focusing on the city of Tarragona, in Catalonia, PrecarGender aims to produce knowledge located where vulnerabilities are accentuated, both by the socio-economic transformations of the environment itself and by the precarious living conditions of some of its inhabitants.
