"Each species has its remedies for despair: horses rush through a gorge, whales run aground on the beach, humans pack their bags. In the future it will not be wars; it will be tourists, tired invaders" (Villoro,2012:180)

The impact and consequences of the crisis caused by the coronavirus in the field of tourism, in a space as close as the Mediterranean coast, requires a deep analysis of the state of the art to understand the situation in order to make clear and efficient proposals to reactivate it and, at the same time, renew it intensely.

From this project, we wonder if we should continue to relate to the tourist understood only as an extractive source of economic benefits or if we have to value it as a source of modernity, culture, new habits and social values. In the past, in fact, tourism brought us out of our lethargy of autarchy and post-war to move decisively towards economic and social progress. Tourism, in our view, is a still inexplicable event, which links different worlds and brings benefits - not only economic - in both directions

The objectives of the project are:

1. Survey and diagnosis of the tourist situation of the Costa Daurada.

2. Proposals on the establishment of a new relationship with the tourist and the tourist spaces.

3. Social diagnosis of the relations and future expectations between locals and tourists
